What will the apprentice be doing?
-
To prepare and supervise suitable activities in accordance with the EYFS and children’s needs and interests.

To implement, support parents and children with the daily routine in the room.

To ensure observations and parental communication is updated on Tapestry in good time.

To help in planning, updating group observation sheets daily and recording focus child observations.

To evaluate the EYFS curriculum and ensure learning objectives are met.

To assess and record the progress of designated key children to our required standard.

To create learning journeys of high standards on time on Tapestry.

To take responsibility for the physical needs of the children, as necessary. Planning and leading outdoor and indoor physical activities.

Work to in the moment planning and develop daily activities based on the interests, events, celebrations and the room’s curriculum.

To promote children’s emotional well-being as per nursery policy
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Qualification
- L3 Apprenticeships Standard in Early Years Educator
- L3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce
- L2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if required)
- L3 Award in Paediatric First Aid
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- A knowledge test - Multiple Choice test
- A professional discussion underpinned by the portfolio
Delivery Method
- A mixture of blended learning in the work place and taught delivery every other Friday at Loughborough College.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once Level 3 has been completed there will be an offer a full time role.
