What will the apprentice be doing?

Main duties to include:

  • Manual and automatic machine operation in the production of components
  • Use of various equipment, grinding wheels, lathes, and other equipment under supervision
  • To learn and gain knowledge and understanding of various plants and equipment in developing skills throughout the apprenticeship
  • Maintaining a good working environment and safe working conditions through good housekeeping standards, ensuring appropriate personal protective equipment is worn when required, encouraging a positive ‘safety culture' and aiming for zero accidents which can be monitored through accident statistics and health and safety inspections

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Engineering Operative Level 2 Standard
  • Apprenticeship Training will take place both inside the workplace and outside at Rochdale Training, release days are to be discussed with the employer
