What will the apprentice be doing?

In your daily work as an employee in this occupation, you will interact with a wide range of people.

  • Plate welders will manually weld plate to a high standard of quality to include fabrication construction or repair of fabricated plate assemblies
  • You will learn to use more than one manual arc welding process
  • You will learn how to use different welding equipment

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards your L3 Plate Welder qualification.

You will attend Nortumberland Skills Welding and Fabrication Training site at The Port Of Blyth on a day release basis one day per week.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A full-time position for the right person on completion of the qualification.
