What will the apprentice be doing?

You will learn through engaging in real software projects, developing software tools to support in-car embedded solutions and implementing IT tools supporting the long-term business development. 

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Take part in the development of computer algorithm
  • Design and develop embedded software in C/C++ to production delivery standards
  • Perform software tests by developing automation tools (e.g. Python), simulation (e.g. 3D and vehicle dynamics), as well as live testing in vehicles
  • Support optimisation of software on embedded platform
  • Develop and implement IT tools to support business efficiency
  • Work as part of a multi-skilled Agile team, share own knowledge and improve through feedback from other team players
  • Deliver value to our customers as part of our international project teams

BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineer).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A guaranteed role at £30,000 per annum to be offered upon satisfactory completion of the four-year course and on the job performance.

Things to consider

We are looking for a minimum of three A Levels at Grade C or above and keen interest in engineering and software development and their automotive applications. As a key part of your role, one day a week you will undertake your course on campus at University of Chichester, working towards completion of the Level Six, Digital and Technology Solutions Professional (Software Engineer) Apprenticeship.
