What will the apprentice be doing?

Support is in collaboration with the Tier 1 and Tier 3 support teams. Occasionally engineers will be required to assist operational teams in problem management across the same technical space.

Key accountabilities to aspire to:

  • Support the Tier 2 support Team Lead for Network Operations in the delivery of IT Network services to QinetiQ across WAN, LAN and Voice services across all QinetiQ sites and cloud-based services
  • Collaborate across Operational support teams to develop solutions and services aligned with QinetiQ’s strategies and requirements
  • Ensure that IT network documentation is maintained and configuration records for all Network Systems are up to date at the point of deployment
  • Working alongside Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams and Solutions Architects on the development and delivery of IT solutions to the highest professional standards aligned to both IT and business requirements
  • Identify and develop methods and procedures to improve security and data privacy within the remit of the deliverable portfolio of solutions
  • Apply an approach of “automate first” when developing and implementing IT solutions
  • If a required act as an escalation point on incidents and problems
  • You will be undertaking a QA ICT Level 3 Apprenticeship as part of your role

  • Learn technical content that aligns to, and is relevant to, employers and the market
  • Learn about DevOps methodologies and the fundamentals of databases and data migration

Tools and technologies learned: Learners will learn to use Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
