Wage stated is minimum in accordance to National Minimum so up to £21,673. Retention bonus on completion of apprenticeship. If eligible Young Person's Railcard. 30% discount in all New Dawn Pubs. 3% Pension contribution. Free meals on duty.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- To assist the kitchen team in food preparation and storage to ensure a high standard of food is served always
- To be friendly and supportive within the team, ensuring as a team that high standards are continually maintained
- To be committed to achieving goals set by the apprenticeship
- To ensure all dishes are served at the correct portion size, quality and temperature
- To ensure health and safety legislation and guidelines are implemented, adhered to and maintained, in respect of kitchen production, machinery, equipment and hygiene
- To ensure high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen
- To ensure stock holding and rotation is implemented
- To minimise wastage
- Starting the apprenticeship, you would be on the cold section, being trained on both the cold starters and desserts in preparation and service, with rotation to other areas in due course
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprentice would be studying for the Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. This would include one day per week in the training kitchens at the South Downs Campus for the duration of the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There will be the opportunity to develop further by progressing to the Chef de Partie Level 3 qualification.
