What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a Fire & Security Installation role. Learning from an experienced Engineer, you will work at customer & client sites, putting the skills into practice you need to develop your career. Focusing on the installation of fire & security equipment, you will advance your electrical engineering skills helping to protect our clients and their property, making the world a safer place.

  • Programming fire alarm
  • Panel software incl. cause & effect.
  • Network Configuration across multiple project ranges.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful apprentice will enrol on to the Level 3 Advanced Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Advanced Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is 3 years in duration during which you will be trained in Intruder Alarms, Fire Alarms, CCTV and Access Control. 

You will attend college on a block release basis, which (depending on your home address) may require you to stay away from home. The cost of travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by the company. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After your 3 years' apprenticeship you will become an accredited Fire and Security Engineer, rolling off your apprenticeship as a graded engineer within Johnson Controls. You will then be a qualified engineer in the world leading Fire and Security organisation, offering you a wide range of opportunities to further develop your career and skill set.

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) Essential
