    You will work 38 weeks of the year (term time only) and the annual salary is paid, monthly, on a pro rata basis. The salary for this position will, therefore, start at £6,906.24 (and not £8,236.80).

What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprentice will have a hands-on experience whilst gaining an accredited qualification in early years and training to:

  • Gain knowledge in children’s learning and development
  • Build relations with children and families
  • Become a key worker and team player within the setting

You will have an induction where they will talk through the setting’s policies (the main one being safeguarding.) You will be required to complete in-house online training as part of the job role.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This programme, other than the requirement of periodic college attendance, is primarily focused on workplace training and learning.

Level 3: Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard, Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) and Award in Paediatric First Aid.

It is intended that - providing you successfully complete your apprenticeship - you will continue in your employment with us.

Things to consider

You will be required to spend long periods of time ‘on your feet’ and the job is in a location where transport will need to be considered. All appointments are made subject to satisfactory reference & evidence checks being carried out - prior to appointment - and you will be required to undergo a DBS check.

We at Worstead Pre-school - a charity run establishment – ensure our children are happy, settled and secure so that they can play, explore and learn to their full potential. Our staff keep up to date with current research and training to ensure our Pre-school runs to the highest standards. During the year there are two parent consultations where a child’s key worker gets together with their parent/s to discuss their child’s development through their learning story.
