What will the apprentice be doing?

Working on reception alongside our receptionist, to book and organise patient appointments, answering phones to patients and other professionals and help with any queries, contacting patients to arrange any routine appointments. Filing any inbound electronic documents and codes.

  • Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
  • Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
  • Filing and coding any inbound documents
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Ensuring patient notes are up to date

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will undertake the Business Admin Level 3 apprenticeship with the training provider PMA Ltd. Your training will all be completed in the workplace during your working week. You will also receive general practice in house training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progress to become a full-time employee and work your way up through the surgery.
