What will the apprentice be doing?

Your job could include;

  • Installation, maintenance, commissioning and servicing of domestic plumbing and heating systems
  • Installation of equipments (showers,baths,sinks,drainage pipes,plastic/copper water pipes, guttering and heating systems)
  • Detecting leaks, solving dimensional problems with applied maths skills
  • Make adjustments to surrounding environment to accommodate new systems
  • Clearing away debris, cleaning and maintaining tools

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating apprenticeship standard
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.
