What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Maintain accurate financial records and manage the general ledger
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly
  • Prepare and process payroll, including tax withholding and employee benefits
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections
  • Prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Communicate with clients and vendors regarding financial transactions
  • Assist with year-end tax preparation and audits
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain the company's financial systems and procedures

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard:

  • 18 month duration with 15 months of the learning period and 3 months end point assessment
  • Level 2 maths and English functional skills if required
