We are looking to recruit an apprentice HGV driver for our busy plant depot in Hemel Hampstead. Driving and delivering goods across all sectors and distances for a range of customers.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Apprentice LGV Drivers will work closely with our experienced HGV Drivers in order to learn and understand the role of logistics/transport in the Construction and Civil Engineering sector while undertaking the required training to obtain the relevant license classifications for lone working.
As a HGV driver, you could:
- Plan deliveries and the route you'll take
- Check your vehicle is safe and report any issues you find
- Help load and unload goods safely
- Keep records of the deliveries you make
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Successful applicants will enrol on to the Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver C+E Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
The training will take place The National Logistics Academy in Manchester.
Delivery: The apprenticeship includes licence acquisition training for Cat C or C+E LGVs. This training is provided at one of our 26 LGV training centres across the country, 12 of which are DVSA approved test centres providing easy access to test dates. We have modern fleet of 150 plus manual and automatic training LGVs and over 100 highly experienced instructors.
English and maths qualifications form a mandatory part of all apprenticeships and must be completed before an apprentice can pass through gateway.
The position is based in Hemel Hampstead.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
If successful will ideally roll off into a permanent HGV position. They can also further develop their skills through training into other Plant and Operative positions.
