What will the apprentice be doing?
- Basic administration duties including answering the phone and fielding calls
- Scanning any post and making sure it is attached to case files and sent to the right fee earner
- Bringing character and personality to a small team
- Listening and following instruction from management
Keeping training records up to date - Being an active team player and belief in working together to achieve better results
- Checking stationary stock levels and re-ordering when required
- Opening files on digital case management system
- Understanding the minimum requirements that are set by the Legal Aid Agency and implementing them
- Considering prosecution evidence
- Providing analysis of prosecution evidence
- Attending conferences with barristers and clients
- Arranging experts to undertake assessments
- Attend court to represent the firm at hearings with clients and barristers
- Attend social events as a representative of the firm
- Attend seminars hosted by legal professionals as a representative of the firm
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As a Paralegal Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Paralegal Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Additional learning within the apprenticeship will enable you to be awarded a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Services which can afford you exemptions from the first two years of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.
Your apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face training from and on-the-job learning.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Permanent paralegal position. Possibility of police station accreditation. CILEX considerations.
