What will the apprentice be doing?

As an apprentice Compressor Installation Engineer, you will be taught all aspects of the trade, you will be taught how to use all the necessary equipment and tools and how to assemble, install and test vehicle mounted compressor systems.

To assist the department in ensuring that all work meets agreed production schedules and any unplanned delays are escalated to the department manager.

 

Roles and responsibilities may change from time to time based on business requirements. The role may also incorporate some general duties not specified, and you will be requested to provide support where applicable for other departments during staff absences or busy periods.

  • To complete and update all business & job production systems and records.
  • To ensure all work undertaken for OBP is quality controlled and QC records are kept and updated.
  • To ensure general business and work areas inside and out are always kept clean and tidy.
  • To be fully conversant with all Health and Safety procedures and to implement and comply with them, reporting any non-conformance through the agreed channels.
  • To ensure that the Company’s resources are used cost effectively on all projects and that waste is identified and solutions advised.
    Whilst in the field and working on site to act as a responsible and professional ambassador for OBP and always protect the OBP brand & reputation in all activities.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will work towards a level 2 engineering qualification.

Apprentices without Level 1 (or equivalent) in English and maths must ensure that apprentices achieve Level 1 and take the test for Level 2 prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
