What will the apprentice be doing?

During the first year you will undertake training full time at college to complete your foundation training which will include:

  • Machining components using milling machines
  • Machining components using lathes
  • Manufacturing components through a variety of bench fitting skills 

You will also undertake block placements within the production area becoming familiar with and use the machines used for manufacturing.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Foundation Engineering Diploma and BTEC level 3 Development Diploma in Engineering
  • For this role you will be based in the Leicester area at our Whetstone site
  • The training will be daily (Monday - Friday)
  • Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment
