To assist with the preparation of, transport to and care for horses at competitions, the races, sales, shows and other public appearances.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include all aspects of horse care e.g.,
- Grooming
- Mucking out
- Trimming and clipping
- Plaiting
- Lunging training
- Health care
- Feeding
- Assisting with running of events
- Assisting with customer care and experience
- Exercise of horses (dependent upon experience)
- Hacking of horses (dependent upon experience)
- Functional skills if required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Equine Groom Level 3
- Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to completion of their apprenticeship
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The opportunity to progress on to the BHS accredited coaching qualifications and to specialise in areas such as equine dentistry or rehabilitation.
