What will the apprentice be doing?
Operational:
- Be a flexible member of a team, working cooperatively and with flexibility
- Understand that each child is an individual and have a general understanding of childcare and child development
- To be polite, professional, and friendly at all times with customers, clients and colleagues
- To ensure the highest level of customer care is adhered to at all times - To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
- To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained onto your line manager
- Develop positive relationships with parents/carers, other staff
- Assist with the supervision of children at play (indoor and outdoor) and at mealtimes
- Assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive classroom environment
- Support fundraising events and assist with the promotion of the nursery as required
- Assist with the care, maintenance, and security if all equipment and toys within the nursery
Safeguarding:
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery
- Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures e.g., fire precautions, security, dropping off and collection of children
- Operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the bedding and nappy changing area and food surface areas
General:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Ensure the company's policies on diversity and equal opportunities are adhered to
- Support other staff in the effective implementation of a key person system and to take responsibility for a group of children in the absence of their key person
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Early Years Educator Apprentice Standard Level 3
- Training will take place in the work place and via remote, live webinars
- The successful candidate will work alongside a Total People Learning Coach who will support them throughout the programme
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Full time position upon completion of apprenticeship
