    During your time at HETA, students will work 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm. Following this they will then work alongside the ABG team and follow their shift pattern.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Students will spend the first 6 months at the HETA training centre in Hull where they will complete practical training 4 days a week in areas such as:

  • Electrical wiring
  • Electrical maintenance
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • CAD
  • Hand fitting

Alongside this one day a week students will work towards the Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

From Easter students will then return to site on day release for the remainder of year 1 and into year 2 to continue with the Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma.

Whilst in company you will be allocated a mentor who will help you progress through your qualification (Engineering Fitter). They will work with you on the skills, knowledge and behaviour required for the role and well as supporting you through your qualification.
