What will the apprentice be doing?
You will learn the tools, techniques and approaches used by the team and apply them in a controlled environment to ensure projects are delivered on time, to quality and to budget.
As part of the role you will engage in the full software development lifecycle process under the guidance of Senior Software Developers within the team.
At Lockheed Martin, we invest heavily in the personal development of our employees. As a new starter you will be enrolled in the necessary training to provide you with the knowledge required for the role.
You will not be expected to know the technologies we use from day one, however we will expect you to be keen to learn!
As part of the Software apprentice daily duties,
- Utilise the technologies and tools listed below across the full development lifecycle to meet the requirements of various projects
- Technology Development Software & Infrastructure - Visual studio, Microsoft DevOps, GIT, SQL server management studio, Microsoft windows operating systems server and desktop
- Development Code - C#, Java script, HTML, CSS
- Databases - MS SQL
- Work independently or collaboratively with other members of the Development team
- Work alongside Customer Care Team to identify and resolve issues in a 3rd line support capacity
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful applicant will achieve a Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship.
Off the job study will take place at our suppliers, PETA, location (1 day a week).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of the Level 4 apprenticeship. The apprentice with then be integrated fully into the business and provided upskilling opportunities that support their development further.
