This is an apprenticeship role. We are looking for an apprentice who is looking to develop a career in childcare. You must already hold a level 2 qualification. You will be working with other people to help look after and support children in their growth and development. The role includes planning and supervising child initiated and adult led activities which are based around the needs and interests of each individual child, supporting children to develop numeracy and language skills through games and play and being a team player.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main Duties to Include:

  • Work with the other staff on planning and preparation of activities to meet children's individual needs and liaising with parents.
  • Keep developmental records and observations.
  • Provide positive management of children's behaviour.
  • Be involved in the preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
  • Feedback on any issues or opportunities identified around the site that could impact the quality of care provided 
  • Support the team in the upkeep of base rooms, displays resources etc. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Standard 
  • Apprentices must successfully complete the Apprentices must successfully complete a first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework
  • Apprenticeship learning will take place in the workplace
  • Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once qualified, progression is offered to the correct candidate.

About the employer

Our setting provides a lot of rooms for children including, a learning and educational space, a sleeping and baby room, boys and girls areas, a cosmos area, construction and natural play areas, a home corner, a beauty salon area, a book corner and a messy play area. We also provide a large dining room and kitchen. There is an outside area with sand play, a swing and a climbing frame with a slide.
