What will the apprentice be doing?

Your first year will be spent in our in-house training school learning basic machine and hand fitting skills as well as Inspection techniques and basic maintenance skills.

You will then progress onto the shop floor to complete your Level 3 in the Maintenance department reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Tasks include:

  • Completing daily checks
  • Complete running repairs on machines.
  • Complete planned maintenance on machines
  • Problem solving
  • Complete general repairs to all areas of the factory as required.

You will complete your college course units on a day release basis.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your apprenticeship will include:

  • Technical certificate in Engineering - City & Guilds Level 3
  • Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
  • Portfolio of Evidence
  • End Point Assessment Preparation
     
     

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Our Apprentices progress onto all areas of the company and will have the opportunity to undertake a HNC upon successful completion of their level 3 qualifications with merit and distinction grades

Things to consider

5 weeks Holiday entitlement per year Possible progression within the company to Cell Leader and Shop Supervisor as experience increases. Starting on Day Shift, Mon – Thurs 7.15am to 4pm, Fri 7.15am to 12.15pm then once onto Level 3 and over the age of 18 consideration for double day shifts, Mon to Fri (We do not operate a night shift)
