What will the apprentice be doing?
You’ll work on projects within our Application Modernisation Services team. Our Apprentice Test Analysts will be flexible and open to learn testing skills, such as:-
- Analysing, designing, executing, and reporting on tests along with the creation of test data.
- Using appropriate testing tools, and techniques, ensuring new and amended software, together with any interfaces, performs as specified and intended using technical and functional specifications.
- Building on your technological skills and using them within a professional environment.
- Delivering test automation across multiple project workstreams.
You'll also be part of our overall Emerging Talent community and have the opportunity to get to know Graduates, Interns and other Apprentices in our organisation.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprenticeship will blend on the job experience, face-to-face or virtual workshops and online learning, leading to the following qualifications:
- Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship standard (national qualification).
- ISTQB Foundation Software Tester (international qualification).
You will also attend an 'Advance Your Future' training course and spend 5 days at The Outward Bound Trust. Both of these learning opportunities are designed to complement the learning that you'll get on-the-job and from the Apprenticeship Training Provider.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Although your apprenticeship will be for around 24 months, your contract of employment with us is a permanent one. We want you to have a long-term and successful career with us.
If you do well on your apprenticeship and want to carry on learning, the business may support you to continue further apprenticeship learning at degree level.
