The Government has a target to build significantly more new homes over the coming years and therefore the demand for bricklayers has never been higher. You will lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures eg chimney stacks.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures eg chimney stacks
- The range of sites and projects that bricklayers will work on include large commercial developments, new builds in housing, alterations, extensions and restorations
- A bricklayer may work one-on-one or on larger jobs where their bricklaying group (gang) may work on a particular section of a building alongside other bricklaying gangs as well as other trades
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The Apprentice will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship and Greenlight Training Ltd will be the Apprenticeship training provider
- The Apprentice will need to attend the Greenlight Training centre in Plymouth for 3 consecutive days per month
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- We would like to work with all of our Apprentices after they have completed and passed their Apprenticeship. We would look to take the Apprentice on as a sub-contractor
