What will the apprentice be doing?

We have an opportunity for an apprentice to work as a construction site and technical support administrator within a worldwide renowned name in the construction industry, committed to working towards achieving lowering the carbon footprint by retrofitting properties, ensuring they become warm, safe and energy efficient. This role will provide an introduction to PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 retrofit processes that will be required in order to achieve Net Zero targets by 2050.

Working towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification, the apprentice will be involved in a range of operations including general site administration as well as providing a degree of technical support to other team members within the estimating, planning, buying, site, quantity surveying, and design and build departments.

You will be involved in a range of operations including estimating, planning, buying, site, quantity surveying, and design and build roles.

A varied role, your day-to-day work will include:

  • General administration support to the team as a whole
  • Assisting with estimations and quantity surveying
  • Assisting with site planning
  • Assisting with purchasing
  • Assisting with design and build roles
  • Assisting with digital processes
  • Assisting site supervisors
  • Interpreting and analysing plans, contract and project documentation
  • Liaison with external organisations
  • Liaison with professional and technical teams, providing support where needed
  • Assisting with ensuring build time frames are on track
  • Identifying site hazards and helping to ensure safe methods of practise are being adhered to at all times
  • Reporting procedures
  • Maintaining and retrieving correct documentation
  • Assisting in quality control
  • Supporting contracting teams
  • Maintaining clear lines of communication between site teams
  • Contract administration and support as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprentice will work towards the Level 3 Business Administrator qualification and will receive regular, online tutorials as well as carry out assignments

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • There is the opportunity to move into full-time employment on successful completion of the Apprenticeship
