What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be responsible and take ownership of all work undertaken on behalf of the business by liaising with clients & other members of staff, to learn all aspects of accounting for multiple clients in order to help with cover in this area.
This is a varied role including both accounting and admin related duties, some of the duties you will be undertaking are as follows:
- Inputting client income & expenses onto their software
- Processing year-end accounts ready for submission to HMRC
- Bookkeeping
- VAT accounting
- Self-assessment
- Liaising with clients, via phone, email and face to face
- Process payroll
- Involved in the invoicing process
- Dealing with clients' concerns in a timely manner
- Admin related duties
- Filing and archiving
- Follow all GDPR guidelines regarding data protection & confidentiality
- Follow all health & safety regulations
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant at Stockton Riverside College.
- Functional Skills Maths & English, if required.
Apprentices will be required to take ONE of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role:
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
- ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2)
- IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
- ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
