What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be responsible and take ownership of all work undertaken on behalf of the business by liaising with clients & other members of staff, to learn all aspects of accounting for multiple clients in order to help with cover in this area. 

This is a varied role including both accounting and admin related duties, some of the duties you will be undertaking are as follows:

  • Inputting client income & expenses onto their software
  • Processing year-end accounts ready for submission to HMRC
  • Bookkeeping
  • VAT accounting
  • Self-assessment
  • Liaising with clients, via phone, email and face to face
  • Process payroll
  • Involved in the invoicing process
  • Dealing with clients' concerns in a timely manner
  • Admin related duties
  • Filing and archiving
  • Follow all GDPR guidelines regarding data protection & confidentiality
  • Follow all health & safety regulations

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant at Stockton Riverside College.
  • Functional Skills Maths & English, if required.

Apprentices will be required to take ONE of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role:

  • AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
  • ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2)
  • IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
  • ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
