What will the apprentice be doing?

SAFETY -

  • Ensure environment & equipment are safe, cleaning of toys & equipment
  • Assure risk assessments are undertaken
  • Personal safety within the Nursery
  • COSHH requirements are complied with

DEVLOPMENT OF CHILDREN -

  • Ensure a high standard of children’s individual needs
  • Plan & implement the EYFS of learning
  • Record,assess a child's development & parents are given correct and meaningful information about their child
  • Ensure special needs of children are met & liase with Nursery SENCO

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage and gain valuable work experience. You will be expected to work towards the Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.

As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression to level 3 and/or permanent role upon successful completion of apprenticeship for the right person.

Things to consider
