What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties to include:

  • Plan and provide a programme of activities for children as young as babies to 5 years old.
  • Support childcare practitioners and senior staff in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the nursery.
  • Complete developmental records and observations as appropriate.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure health & safety and hygiene of the nursery is to a high standard.
  • Carry out cooking and domestic duties as necessary.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard for Early Years Educator.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educator.
  • Apprentices must successfully complete the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) as per the EYFS requirements.
  • Training will be delivered in the workplace

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for a full time post at the nursery, for the right candidate.
