What will the apprentice be doing?
Complete maintenance - To assist with and complete maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. Auto Electrician. To collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and solve problems.
Complete installations - To fill installation work orders, the Apprentice Auto Electrician will assist the Auto Electrician or perform less complex installation tasks independently.
They will complete electrical wiring tasks, alignment adjustments, and calibration of equipment following manuals, schematics, diagrams, blueprints and equipment specifications.
Learn Procedures - The Apprentice Auto Electrician is in a position that is partly educational training to become an Auto Electrician. Therefore, he or she is responsible for learning all procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems as well as local and federal regulations and safety requirements.
Roles and responsibilities may change from time to time based on business requirements. The role may also incorporate some general duties not specified, and you will be requested to provide support where applicable for other departments during staff absences or busy periods.
- To complete and update all business and job production systems and records
- To ensure all work undertaken for OBP is quality controlled and QC records are kept and updated
- To ensure general business and work areas inside and out are always kept clean and tidy
- To be fully conversant with all Health and Safety procedures and to implement and comply with them, reporting any non-conformance through the agreed channels
- To ensure that the Company’s resources are used cost effectively on all projects and that waste is identified and solutions advised.
Whilst in the field and working on site to act as a responsible and professional ambassador for OBP and always protect the OBP brand and reputation in all activities
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will work towards a motor vehicle technician level 3 qualification.
Before the Standard is met, all apprentices must hold a certificate that meets the EU’s 2014 F-gas regulation.
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
