    Review to take place after the first 4 months, and then 2 more review periods thereafter for a 15-month duration.

  • Working week

    Negotiable from 30 to 40 hours depending on travel times and restrictions. The office is open from 08:00 to 04:30pm although the candidate may work within those hours. Days TBC.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Interpret the clients' requirements from specifications and drawings, and use software and internal support personnel to build up an estimated cost and price proposal to suit the client’s request.
  • Liaise with suppliers for materials & subcontract costs.
  • Deal with client's technical questions with support from the company's manufacturing engineers, promote the business, and follow up on enquiries to maximise the new business opportunities.
  • The role also may require the successful candidate to represent the company at future UK exhibitions.
  • All supplier & customer interaction is via email and telephone.
  • Assist with logistical tasks and stock control.
  • Assist management when required.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Standard, which includes:

  • Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Business.
  • You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training.
  • You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks.
  • End Point Assessment (online).
  • Occasional group classes with other learners.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths & English if required.
  • Business Administrator Certificate from IfATE and City & Guilds.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There would be the opportunity for the role to become a permanent position with MTS.

Salary to be negotiated on market rates and prior performance, and experience.

There would be the opportunity to carry on with further development courses and promotion within the company.
