What will the apprentice be doing?

The first position

Office duties include:

  • Answering incoming calls
  • Processing orders
  • Entering stock onto system
  • Maintaining stock on system
  • Data entry and systems admin
  • Post
  • Any other ad-hoc administrative work as required

The second position:

Office duties include:

  • Answering incoming calls
  • Processing orders
  • Health and Safety admin
  • Maintaining HR Records and Onboarding new staff into systems
  • Maintaining records for Fleet of Vehicles and Drivers
  • Data Entry and systems admin
  • Any other ad-hoc administrative work as required

The apprentice will be trained multi-skilled and once finished will have the opportunity to choose where in the business they'd like to progress once the opportunity arises.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3

Qualifications:

Where a business administrator has not already achieved Level 2 English and maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

Location: Shildon

Working 5 days per week including one day release for study at Darlington College. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successful completion of the apprenticeship, a long-term position will be considered.

About the employer

Kellars were acquired by a major private investment in 2018 with an aim of developing and expanding a company into a UK flooring distribution business. Before the acquisition, Kellars supplied to a small number of customers in the Greater Manchester area from one depot in Stockport.2019 saw the purchase of a flooring distribution business in Scotland and two in the NE of England. Shortly after in 2020 we extended our product portfolio. 2021 has seen the opening of 2 more depots, along with further investment into transport, stock holding and recruitment. We now distribute a wide variety of Carpet, LVT/SPC, Vinyl, Laminate, Artificial Grass, Underlay and Accessories to cover most of the UK delivery routes.
