What will the apprentice be doing?

You wil be

  • As well as college / mentor training

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice would be assigned an assessor through the College, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence.  The training practical period is the time dedicated to the development of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours for your apprenticeship which includes the following components;

• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing

• Hair Professional Standard - skills, knowledge and behaviours.

• Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English (exemptions apply).

The apprentice would attend day release at Cambridge campus, online portal VLE (Virtual Learning Environment), and assignments/ evidence of work/ portfolio /test would be checked via an online Smart Assessor.

Things to consider

The hairdressing profession is a creative and rewarding industry and the employer will provide close mentoring support to progress to become qualified. The very nature of the job role as a hairdresser means standing at long periods and good body posture is important. Will be required to work Saturday’s and extended shifts during the week. The apprentice will be offered a uniform and full training working alongside a full trained team of professionals.
