What will the apprentice be doing?

This 3-year Apprenticeship will prepare you to become a top-class Müller professional for their Technical, Continuous Improvement, Production, Process and Quality teams. And they'll provide the right environment for you to take on a variety of tasks. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Clean-in-Place and Chemical Technology
  • Principles of Dairy Chemistry
  • Principles of Dairy Microbiology
  • Dairy Workplace Practices
  • Principles of Food and Dairy Safety
  • Milk and Dairy Derivatives as Raw Materials
  • Quality Assurance in the Food Industry
  • Innovation in the Dairy Industry
  • Principles of Continuous Improvement
  • Dairy Process Engineering

The learning won’t stop there though. It’s a life’s journey, a career, a passion! Further development and training opportunities are available for those who want to pursue these!

You will receive your training through distance learning modules and on-site at the training provider’s facility. The remaining time will be spent putting the know-how to practice and good use in the business - all helped and nurtured by workplace mentors. You will also complete 3-month placements in rotation, throughout the company to help you develop as you learn.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

At the end of the Apprenticeship programme, you will gain the following qualifications:

  • Level 5 Apprenticeship AND a Foundation Degree in Dairy Technology
  • Level 3 Food Safety
  • Level 3 HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
  • Level 3 Health and Safety

You will do your apprenticeship with Reaseheath College, full-time Distance Learning with 4 x 2-week practical’s on UCR campus.
