What will the apprentice be doing?

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The candidate will receive in-house on-the-job training and will receive the NEBDN National Diploma at the end of the apprenticeship. The training will take place at Cheddar Dental Practice and college. The college training will be one day a week during term time.

The Level 3 Dental Nurse apprenticeship training is delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular college attendance. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviour set out in the GDC standards. On completion, the apprentice will receive NEBDN National Diploma qualification. Functional Skills in Maths and English may also be required depending on your current level.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

As a qualified dental nurse, there are many future career options. You can progress within general dental practice to become head nurse or even practice manager. There is the option of moving into hospital dentistry. One can also represent dental companies as part of their sales team, or an in-house professional training team. Further training can also be sought to become a dental hygienist.

You will be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to your application being passed on. Independently owned family dental practice looking to employ a trainee dental nurse to join a well established, friendly dental team. The practice is situated over 2 floors with 8 treatment rooms. It is fully computerised with digital x-ray equipment. We provide both NHS and private services. On the job training will be provided within the practice alongside day release at college one day a week.
