What will the apprentice be doing?
- The post holder will learn how to undertake a range of grounds and public realm maintenance and development work to include horticulture
- They will gain the skills to use a range of equipment and machinery including leaf blowers and grass cutting equipment
- They will learn how to work safely and to ensure relevant health and safety requirements are complied with at all times
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice will undertake Horticulture or landscape operative, Level 2 (GCSE) provided by The Derby College Group. The training will be delivered onsite at Broomfield College, Ilkeston, DE7 6DN and will be on a day a week basis.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of the two-year programme it is anticipated that the Apprentice will become employment ready and will be given the opportunity to apply for available employment opportunities within the District Council.
