What will the apprentice be doing?
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Physical Stock Integrity
- System integrity in the control of Stock, across our internal stores, engineers’ stockholdings and any third-party stores
- Support management in all aspects of Health and Safety
- Administer all paperwork/spreadsheets to support the business needs
- High level of housekeeping is maintained
Key Tasks:
- Document control - all documentation should be legible, signed in the relevant places and filed away
- Use of the internal stock system (Sage, Job Watch & Excel). The business system must be utilised for all transactions concerning material flow in and out of the company. All receipts and despatches must be properly and accurately logged
- Use of the shipping systems - the shipping systems must be utilised when all goods are despatched. All despatch receipts must be kept and filed in the correct place
- Ensuring the Stores area and processes are continually re-examined and where necessary improved
- Receipt and checking of goods-in and ensure the amount of parcels signed for match the amount of parcels received. Confirm the details on the delivery note match the actual goods received
- Handling and storing goods - ensure all goods are identified, handled and stored in a controlled, safe manner applicable to that type of product
- Picking and packaging of goods - ensure the goods are picked as per the picking document. The product serial numbers must be logged using the Excel spreadsheets and the computer systems
- Despatching of goods - ensure goods are despatched in a timely fashion to ensure customer satisfaction as well as packaged in a suitable manner to ensure they will not be damaged in transit.
- Ensure the correct documentation is sent with the goods
- Processing of returned goods – recognising status of goods returned to ensure that they are signposted for further diagnosis or to be scrapped
- Stocktake - participation in full stocktake and regular fortnightly and monthly stock checks
- All work performed must adhere to the health and safety procedures
