What will the apprentice be doing?
- Install electrical services (e.g. wiring systems, lighting, sockets, fire alarms, emergency lighting & heating controls)
- Read and understand engineering drawings, wiring and circuit diagrams
- Inspect and test electrical installations
- Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of circuits and equipment
- Use small hand tools such as hammers and saws
- Operate electrical tools such as grinders
- Install the systems needed for wiring and cables such as brackets and containment lay, pull and string cables.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- You will train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country
- Level 3 - Installation electrician / maintenance electrician apprenticeship standard
- Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification, (Installation) or (Maintenance).
- Block release at a local college
- You will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Once qualified there is the potential of a permanent position within the company. If you successfully gain a permanent position there are many opportunities to advance your career.
