What will the apprentice be doing?

The role will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Build, plan and test electrical cabinets to be used from project installations
  • Program and configure sensors and equipment for specific projects and customers
  • Maintain and complete accurate testing and shipping documentation for equipment
  • Provide accurate component information such as part numbers, suppliers, quantities etc. to be passed onto the Operations Department to purchase for stock and project works
  • Create and amend relevant system drawings for projects and customer requirements
  • Read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will work towards achieving a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Mechatronics Maintenance) including the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. 

Your off-the-job training will take place at Derwent Training in Malton one day per week.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The opportunity to transition into our installation team. This role involves travelling around the world installing electrical equipment on customer sites. Further progression could see the candidate moving into project management, organising and planning projects.
