Welcome to our website. Whether you are a pupil, parent or visitor, we hope you will find it informative and interesting. General information about the school can be found in this section. The 'Our School' and 'Extended Services' sections will tell you about our school community and demonstrate its diversity. The 'Learning' pages contain information about the curriculum and support for learning outside school. The 'Achievement' pages celebrate individual and school success. We value academic success, through achievement in the National Key Stage 2 tests and take pride in providing for the wider needs of each child. As lead agency for the St Albans Plus Local Partnership and DSPL7, we also provide support for families and the wider community. At our school, we aim to provide a secure and caring environment in which all children, regardless of race, gender or religion are happy, eager and motivated to learn and we provide ourselves on the inclusive culture of our school. We place a high priority on partnership and teamwork and seek actively to incorporate staff, governors, parents and children within a positive, informed, open and co-operative school culture. If you are thinking of joining our school, you are very welcome to arrange a visit. In the meantime, please enjoy our website. We hope that you find all the information you need and would welcome any feedback you would like to give. History The school was built in the 1930s as a girls' secondary school and was occupied by the Girls' Grammar School until it moved in 1952. It continued as a secondary school but was eventually phased out and Fleetville School took over the premises in September 1975. The buildings were extensively remodelled to suit the needs of a primary school. They include an assembly hall with stage and stage lighting, teaching rooms, group rooms, library, music rooms, gymnasium and dining hall. The grounds adjoining the school include netball courts, hard play areas and a large playing field. The grounds are pleasantly laid out with trees, shrubs, flowerbeds and seating. Recently, the installation of a range of playground equipment has been funded by the PTA and friends.
