What will the apprentice be doing?
General Employment Duties:
- To prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Caterer.
- To participate with all aspects of cleaning within the kitchen environment.
- To assist with stock taking when required.
- To assist in the development and planning of menus.
- To ensure that pupils are given a prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded.
- To be customer focused at all times, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs.
- To be a team player, assisting other team members when necessary.
- Assist with stock, deliveries and waste management, checking and recording in line with Trust policies.
- To gain an understanding of food costing, sales mix and menu planning.
- To take responsibility for contributing towards your own development with the guidance of the Caterer and attend training courses as identified.
- To participate in staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Provide cover and support for colleagues as required from time to time.
- Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are completed to agreed timescales with a high standard of accuracy.
- To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship as directed by your line manager and or the learning/training provider.
