What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Support User base of 50+ clients via telephone, e-mails or onsite
  • Office 365 console administration
  • Problem solving
  • Set up and configuration of client Desktops and Laptops. Ensuring users can get emails on the device, can use the Office apps
  • Onsite cabling and network connectivity. Onsite Wi-Fi administration
  • Active Directory administration: create new user accounts, amend permissions, and reset network and applications passwords
  • Perform various stock check requests as advised by Technical Service Manager’s requests
  • Meet and greet our user base. Perform scheduled appointments and tasks
  • Support for all IT peripheral equipment for clients e.g., Projectors, Printers, Meeting room equipment etc
  • SharePoint Administration
  • The Apprentice will perform their duties and any ad hoc requests that come from the Technical Services Manager or Managing Director, with accuracy and professionalism

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The Apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship Standard
  • College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute - Colchester Campus one day per week during term time 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A great opportunity to join an established local company. We have two other employees who have completed the apprenticeship programme and are now full-time employees. This is based on work ethic and a vacancy being available at the end of course completion.
