What will the apprentice be doing?

Reporting to the Chef

Duties to include:

  • Preparation of kitchen work areas ready for service.
  • Develop product knowledge of ingredients, food types, allergies and menu items to assist in preparation of dishes upon request.
  • Assist with catering of buffet/events and fine dining experiences.  
  • Assist with menu development - develop the confidence to suggest new dishes and build a portfolio of signature items.
  • Clean down work areas in line with health and safety and food hygiene constraints.
  • Log off-the-job learning hours as required for the apprenticeship programme.

  • Designed to cover all essential knowledge, skills and behaviours and which includes end point assessment
