What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Learn all aspects of Electro-mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacture, install and service Sesame's bespoke wheelchair access lifts
  • Use your technical knowledge to fault find and develop Sesame's world class product range

  • 4/5 weeks of block University training at University of Nottingham every year  

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This is a 5-year apprenticeship.

We hope the candidate will stay with Sesame, leading a Manufacturing or Installation Team and progressing through the company to Management Team level.

Things to consider

We would like the Apprentice to shadow our Head Engineer for a significant portion of the training. He will provide training for you but also encourage you to fault find and recommend solutions. You will also have a workplace Mentor throughout the duration.

You will receive on the job training from our very knowledgeable Sesame Engineers, one of whom will also be your professional Mentor. Training will cover all aspects of Sesame lifts, including hydraulics, electrics, design, manufacture, fault finding, individual workplace projects, materials and manufacture, statics and dynamics, drive systems, hysteresis, thermodynamics, electrical control systems, computer aided design (CAD), understanding drawings etc. Your work based experience will compliment your studies.
