What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Stripping and re fitting entire boat projects
  • Building custom projects for superyacht customers
  • Working on military and defence style programmes
  • Bonding inflatable products using complex cut and adhesion methods
  • Manipulating and sculpting foam products for high end customers
  • Installing inflatable collars to new and overhauled boats and RIB’s

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprenticeship training is delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular college attendance
  • This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Lean manufacturing level 2 standard
  • On completion the apprentice will receive the Lean Manufacturing Level 2 Diploma. Functional Skills in maths and English may also be required depending on current level

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • The progression would be into a full-time role with Henshaw as part of our Technical team
  • You could progress into an accomplished role, move onto to be a team leader or supervisor and long term onto more senior positions in the business
