We have an opportunity for our next Apprentice Accountant to join our accountancy business. The role will deliver experience in all areas of accountancy, including bookkeeping, payroll, annual accounts, management accounts, VAT. We will also provide support for the individual to gain AAT accountancy qualification.

What will the apprentice be doing?
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Post sales invoices, supplier invoices, and expenses
- Reconcile bank transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare VAT returns ready for review
- Understand the credit control process
- Assist with payroll submissions
- Prepare accounts to trial balance, prepare working papers, and draft annual accounts
- Prepare management accounts, and understand how and why they are different to annual accounts

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will receive support toward completion of the AAT qualification.
Progression towards the qualification will be delivered via both practical experience learned in the workplace and formal tution delivered at college one day per week.
Individuals who successfully complete AAT can choose to further progress their professional studies with more speciliased accountancy qualifications should they wish.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
An apprenctice, once qualified, has a wide range of options open to them.
They can choose to take higher accountancy exams with professional bodies such as ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA, any of which give an individual both a technically strong grounding as well as excellent practical business skills on whch to build their career.
An individual could also to choose to specialise in areas such as tax, and choose to pursue qualifications from professional bodies such as CIOT.
