What will the apprentice be doing?

Every day is different here at Swiftpack which gives great variety to the working week.  The basic tasks you will learn to master are:

·       Reading engineering drawings.

·       Basic machining on a lathe and milling machine.

·       Assembly of complex machine parts.

·       Assembly of pneumatic systems

·       Ability to trace and report faults during assembly.

Understanding of design concepts.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Year 1: To be based in the Worcester Group Training centre, one day in the classroom working through a Development Knowledge qualification. Four days in the workshop working through practical units that will result in the completion of a Foundation Competance qualification.

Year 2: Four days per week in company, one day at the centre to continue the Development Knowledge. Within Swiftpack you will work and train in rotation of the company to understand how the company works.
  
Year 3 - 4 :Fulltime in company - , in addition to working through a Development Competence qualification, as well as getting ready for your End Point Assessment.

Things to consider

Alcester is limited in a Public Transport Network so any potential candidates will need to consider how they will be able to travel to and from both HWGTA and the factory.

IMA Swiftpack Ltd are part of the IMA group and specialise in the Design and Manufacture of packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical industry. Our core machinery is electronic tablet counting equipment for filling solid dose products (tablets and capsules) into bottles. Along with filling equipment it also designs and manufactures all other associated equipment required for a primary bottle filing production line. This includes bottle unscrambling machines, bottle cleaning machines, desiccant inserting machines, tablet hopper filling machines, cotton wad inserting machines, bottle capping machines, cap sealing machines and cap retorqueing machines.
