Equine groom apprentice Monnington Equestrian
Monnington Equestrian are looking for a cheerful and hardworking individual to undertake this apprenticeship and to then be able to progress in their equine career. The ideal applicant will have experience of working with horses and will also need to possess good communication skills as they will be interacting and dealing with the clients. To assist with the preparation of, transport to and care for horses at competitions, the races, sales, shows and other public appearances.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include all aspects of horse care e.g.,
- Grooming
- Mucking out
- Trimming and clipping
- Plaiting
- Lunging training
- Health care
- Feeding
- Assisting with running of events
- Assisting with customer care and experience
- Exercise of horses (dependent upon experience)
- Hacking of horses (dependent upon experience)
- Functional skills if required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Equine Groom Level 2
- Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 English and maths prior to completion of their apprenticeship
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The opportunity to progress on to the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom advanced apprenticeship.
