What will the apprentice be doing?

You will spend one day a week studying and the rest working in your team. You will be working on:

  • Developing and trialling new processes for use by the design/verification teams
  • Developing test benches and test cases to verify the design to high standard
  • Investigating alternative options for existing design or verification implementations

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Embedded electronic systems design and development engineer (degree) (level 6)
  • An Honours Degree in Electronics or Electrical & Electronic Engineering which has been accredited by one of the Professional Engineering Institutions licensed by the UK Engineering Council.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Apprentice Hardware Engineers will progress into a full time Hardware Engineer role in their team. Their career can develop however they wish after that. There are lots of opportunities to progress depending on where your interests are.
