About the employer

Baily Garner is a modern and forward-thinking construction consultancy employing over 200 members of staff across two city offices, London and Birmingham, with a national coverage. Our in-house disciplines include project managers, architects, quantity surveyors, employer’s agents, mechanical and electrical engineers, sustainability engineers and principal designers. Having traditionally been strong in the housing sector, working on new build, refurbishment, retrofit, mixed use and mixed tenure schemes, we have steadily increased our presence in the education, care, blue light and commercial sectors. As a result, we have a portfolio of projects ranging in value from £5,000 to in excess of £1bn. For the forty-plus years of our existence, we have championed a ‘grow your own’ strategy at Baily Garner focusing on nurturing and developing employees from the day they join the Practice. This strategy has served us very well: we have Partners who joined us as school leavers, were sponsored by BG through college and university and worked their way up from apprentices to chartered surveyors and now co-owners of the Practice. ‘Grow your own’ complements our policy of continuous learning and development for all employees and we invest significant amounts of time and money in our Professional Development Schemes. We do this for a number of reasons: In line with our objective to be ‘a great place to work’ we recognise our responsibility to encourage all employees to learn new skills and update and maintain existing skills, knowledge and expertise We believe the Practice and our clients flourish when our staff are engaged in, and fully committed to, their individual professional development and are striving to fulfil their potential
