Advanced Manufacturing Sheffield Limited are looking for a Machinist Apprentice to complete a level 3 apprenticeship to join their team. Apprentices will be taught in our production cell where you will learn three different types of machine control language and gain experience on all the machine types in our company.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture components utilising instructions within a production pack
- Support new product Introduction (NPI) and giving feedback to the engineering team on all aspects
- Confirm conformance of finished work to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometres, calipers, dial indicators and gauges
- Progress manufacture in line with the production schedule
- Ensure all production documentation adheres to the relevant quality standard
- Run 5-axis CNC machining centres
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation Knowledge)
After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) - Machining
- Level 3 Diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge)
You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Technician standard on a Machinist - Advance Manufacturing Engineer pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.

Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications which are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world.
