What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties include:

  • Adhering to the polices & procedures and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted/Welfare standards
  • Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the nursery manager and area manager
  • Keeping accident, incident and risk assessment records
  • Working as part of a team
  • The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs
  • Keeping of development records and observations 
  • Positive management of children's behaviour
  • Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will work towards Early Years Practitioner Level 2. You will be visited every month at your workplace by your dedicated assessor. You will attend online monthly tutorial workshops and may be required to attend further training sessions at our city centre campus
  • English and maths qualifications form a mandatory part of all apprenticeships and must be completed before an apprentice can pass through gateway

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

About the employer

The nursery has been purposefully adapted to accommodate children from birth to five years and the children are divided into three rooms Baby (0-2yrs), Toddlers (2-3yrs) and Pre-School (3-5yrs). Each having a separate space especially designed to cater for all of their needs.
